As an advisory board member for Duncanville ISDs Career and Technology Department, I was able to attend their first annual Middle school career fair where 856 eighth-graders were introduced to various industry professionals representing careers they could aspire to have.
These same career opportunities are courses offered by Duncanville ISD’s CTE department and this expo was an innovative way to help them explore which classes they can take when they transition to high school.
Business partners ranging from cosmetology, photography, graphic design, robotics, culinary arts, fashion design, nursing, business management and many more were available to give students a snap shot of their field.
And while there I had the pleasure of running into many of my associates from the beauty industry, Goldmansachs 10K small businesses and Texas A&M!
Kudos to Duncanville ISD @duncanville_isd … this was an overall great event to prepare students for their future! 🧡 #goodhairdaysalon#baasbeauty#hairsalon#beautyindustry
